How would it feel to have a holiday named in your honor? Well, most don’t know because it never happens. But after a thrilling NCAA Final Four finish, Villanova students were given a holiday from classes. Their Wildcats and North Carolina Tar Heels put on a show that was so good it seemed unreal.

After the game, Villanova point guard Ryan “Arch” said “We work on that play every single day in practice. I was trying to be aggressive. It’s about me making the right read. I think I did that.” This speaks to what it takes for teammates and ‘mojo workers’ to turn-up strong at the ready and show-up big in the end.

Whether at the office or on the court it’s smart to start with a goal or two in mind. For college basketball the ultimate goal is getting to the big dance and taking home the championship trophy. The game started as a back-and-forth with a close score at halftime. So it was still anyone’s to win with 20 minutes left.

The Wildcats began the second-half down five points. They found their mojo, got in a groove and opened a 10-point lead. It gave them momentum for a relentless stretch of endurance. Then as the clock wound down it was a dream-shot moment that put Kris Jenkins’ 3-point game clincher in the history books.

Fans were in disbelief. Some sports analysts think this was one of the most exciting game endings ever. Plus, for the everyday person on a work team it was a reminder of how having a goal and getting in a groove means working on some things every day. This gives us the get-up for being able to live large.

How’d it feel to have a named holiday? To take off time without losing pay? Most don’t know how it would be. That won’t happen for them or me. NCAA Final Four finishes high. A few players let-out a cry. Wildcat students had no classes. Good for them and the masses. As game was unreal with loud applauses.

After buzzer ‘Nova star heard saying. What we practice is what we were playing. In pushing the ball up the court. Making right read and being good sport. Aggressive in hustle and his dribble. Little time to waste or to nibble. Teammates came ready to show-up strong. With a big-time ending not after long.

Whether at work or play it’s smart. To have a goal or two at the start. Ultimate goal in making it to the dance. To take home trophy and bragging stance. Game started in back-and-forth fashion. As players soon stepped-up their passion. Halftime saw a close score. Anyone’s to win next 20 minutes on the floor.

Wildcats began five points behind. Got back to the uphill grind. Mojo working didn’t disturb their groove. Opened-up 10-point lead and a move. Had momentum shifted in their favor. A win is something they could savor. Dream-shot moment in Kris Jenkins’ looks. Putting 3-point game clincher in history books.

So fans in disbelief. Call emergency crew for relief! Some analysts say best game ending ever. Another way to show not to give up never. Plus, for every person on a work team. Having goal and groove in a dream. Doing some things daily puts us on the verge. Of rocking the get-up and being able to surge.

The sounds of bells ringing can be heard on Wall Street. Some are wondering if this latest move by Oprah is a fad or for real. She’s made a name for others by putting her stamp of approval on their brands and products. So Oprah teams-up with Weight Watchers for a lifestyle boost to butts and bank accounts.

The company’s chairman says “Oprah is a force of nature connecting with people on a very personal level to live inspired lives. This will accelerate our transformation and expand our ability to impact millions of people worldwide.” To keep the ‘awesome sauce’ flowing isn’t all about Keeping-up with the Kardashians.

Oprah has struggled with weight over the years. Her highest rated daytime show episode was when she carted 67 pounds of fat on stage to symbolize her weight-loss success. Weight Watchers has also been struggling with its ‘weight’ on Wall Street. So the value in struggle is in how they’re turning pain into profit.

That’s a perfect launch point as people think about new goals and dreams for 2016. Oprah might be doing the same as she looks at her OWN Media Empire and personal desire. It seems Weight Watchers is poised to help consumers experience a butt-lift while Oprah hopes consumers consider a lifestyle shift.

The real excitement is what the Oprah-effect will mean. She believes so much in the Weight Watchers program that she decided to invest in the company and join the board. The newest player in late night TV has entered the building! That’s how some saw the debut of CBS’ Late Night with Stephen Colbert. He joins the ranks of comedy hosts who mix politics and showbiz eclectics. Competition for late night eyeballs is on, as Colbert’s hunch is that pop culture can be the star teacher.

He tells USA Today about his new role saying “It gives me everything I want. I like meeting the guests, I like the grind, I like a live audience, I love to hear the laughter. It’s the only job I could imagine that was a promotion.” This is a case of landing a promotion by learning the ropes and not being stuck on stupid.

Colbert made a grand entry with Joe Biden, Jeb Bush and other guests, plus a cameo from Jon Stewart. His interviewing skills and comedic slant are getting people’s attention. Reaching this next level has been a steady output of content built around ‘getting ready for great’ before his breakaway.

It’s been years preparing for this moment after spending time as an understudy and reporter on the Daily Show. This helped him spin-off his own gig on Comedy Central. Hardly anyone questions whether he was the right one to replace Letterman. And even Jimmy Fallon welcomed him to Network prime time.

Colbert adds “I’m looking forward to being sincerely interested in what (guests) have to say without having to translate it through an idiot’s mouth.” His background is built on improv and reputation built on his real love. Well Nicki Minaj won big at the 2015 BET Awards. She got her sixth consecutive best female hip-hop title. But Lebron James is about to win even bigger. The word from his camp is that he’s opting-out on the second year of his contract. James looks to stir the pot for more game and contract dollars.

He’s not planning to leave Cleveland. He’s just looking to raise his stake. James understands the money chain linking his strengths and his value. Some teammates might wonder “Will he let them break us apart?” TNTs Shaq might say it’s simply about striving for greatness as the NBAs ‘Royal Highness.’

James vows to fans he’ll get better by working on some things. During the off-season it’s also about raising his game. As a proven champion he knows striving for greatness means working on your next level of performing. That is often about what you produce in people and what people produce in you.

It’s no surprise then that James is willing to own the role of team leader. With playoff injuries to Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, it was asking a lot of him to win it all. Jay Leno Says Goodbye to the Big Stage While Others Say Hello to Stage Fright

It’s been all over the media that Jay Leno was moving on from the Tonight Show. He’s hosted the show for 22 years after Johnny Carson retired. Leno has kept the #1 ratings spot in the Latenight segment for much of that time. Now he’s saying goodbye to the big stage while others say hello to stage fright.

That’s because the news was a bit scary for the long-term jobless. First, the Bill to extend unemployment benefits failed again in the Senate. Then we received the monthly jobs reports which economists believe might indicate signs of a slowing economy. What must the long-term jobless do to get through?

Maybe there needs to be a ground swell of concern and dismay by those who pull the political and business purse strings. It shouldn’t have to take the kind of street protests like in Bosnia for folks in Congress to take action. The NY Times has reported on how they take care of themselves between jobs.

The report shows how many in the congressional brigade find ways to go from “working on the inside” to lobbying from the outside. Whether there’re loopholes that need closing is reserved for another day. If they can job hop with ease, why can’t they at least see the plight of those for which it’s not as easy?

It’s said Leno will return to his first love of stand-up comedy. Nothing seems to be in the works for doing Latenight on another network. Jimmy Fallon who’s stepping into Leno’s shoes says Jay can visit the show anytime. Wouldn’t it be nice if more officials felt the same way about the long-term jobless situation?

Footnote: Operation J.U.M.P. says if government officials can provide themselves an express route to “greener pastures” they should at least be able to provide the jobless with an entry-lane of options to a frustratingly slow job-market.
