It was just another day at the office as Superbowl pools got checked and cross-checked. The winners were happy while the losers were good sports. Then it was back to the normal workday of meetings and projects. Meanwhile, Beyoncé broke the Internet and Von Miller broke the shell in their best showing yet.

Over 100 million saw the Broncos win and Von Miller named MVP. NFL Commissioner Goodell said “He’s the kind of young man that plays this game at the highest level and does it off the field, also.” Bey and Von know sometimes you’ve got to be focused and hungry for more than a regular serving of success.

The shattered pieces of the Internet have mended after the Halftime Show. So had the setbacks and injuries Miller experienced during the 2013 season. He described it as ‘a rough period’ in his pro career. The word around football circles is that he found a new sense of purpose, focus and hunger for the game.

“It’s like, he got it. He got through it. He understood that you can do more with this platform than just play,” said his mother Gloria Miller talking to Denver’s NBC 9News. Before going on Ellen’s Show he paid homage to family, friends and his football brothers in the trenches for helping him move past the benches.

Miller is like ‘hometown boy done good.’ Bey is no different and in a sense was in Michael Jackson mode. They affirm why we blog at Big Time University. It’s about learning everything you can from those who’ve come before you or are around you and sharing everything you can with those coming behind you.

Another day, another office Superbowl pool. No time to punt or be a fool. Before results in the bag things get checked. Then as game over get cross-checked. Winners happy, losers look to next year. Then back to cube, desk and chair. Beyoncé did her thing broke the Internet. Miller broke the shell for best stuff yet.

Over 100 million saw the game. Miller making it to MVP fame. NFL Commish thinks he’s the real deal. Playing at highest level on and off the field. A young man whose game is up and up. How he helped Broncos win the cup. Got to be focused and hungry. Beyond regular success serving ask Tony Dungy.

Shattered pieces of Internet mended. Halftime show saw Bey, Coldplay and Bruno blended. Miller moving past 2013 season setbacks. Showing what it takes to have comebacks. Sees it as ‘a rough period’ gone by. Now he’s surely flying high. New sense for what he can do. When things line-up and come to you.

It’s like he got it and got through it. Deciding not the time to quit. Understood that he can do more. With a platform as well as the score. Momma Miller right there by his side. Giving her support for the long ride. Paying homage to football brothers in the trenches. For helping him not be stuck on the benches.

He’s ‘hometown boy done good.’ Bey’s no different as others could. With her in Michael Jackson mode. He’s ready to rock and hit the road. Affirming Big Time University is a place. Where we rise to next level space. Learning from those before us and around the way. Lifting those behind us for their hip hip hooray.

The countdown to the big game has begun. For Cam Newton it’s his first trip to the Superbowl. The other big game countdown is the 2016 Olympics. It’s six months away and Usain Bolt has his eyes set on the sprint double for a third time. These guys might be cut out of the same cloth of primetime performance.

Hall-of-Fame Quarterback Joe Namath is quoted by USA Today as saying “Cam is purely joyful to watch. He’s certainly entitled to showing his pleasure… if you’re not winning, you can’t do it.” Newton and Bolt show us how to bring juice on the job, mojo in the marketplace and super powers on the field of dreams.

Their gameplan doesn’t always go as expected. But they adjust their thrust because for them winning is a must. You know how water flows in a pipe when the pressure is released. They do the same as their juice on the job flows by releasing their passion. This works at the office and other parts of the business world.

Win or lose Newton’s likely to rake-in more commercials. Bolt’s not doing shabby either. He just landed a deal with an Australian company. The director said “It’s no secret that Usain Bolt competes to win. His hard work, fierce determination and unwavering commitment are exuded every time he hits the track.”

So what do these guys have in common? Well Cam celebrates with the dab. Usain poses as the ‘lightning bolt.’ They get the chance to showcase their strengths on the big stage. For Newton & Bolt, where there’s gold on the line they just turn super-power type performance into a celebration dance and hot pants.

Hall-of-Famer Namath knows about passing to catch. Saying Newton is joyful to watch. Entitled to showing his pleasure. ‘Cause he’s winning for good measure. Newton and Bolt bring juice on the job. Others want to say they’re snob. Mojo in the marketplace gleams. Super powers on the field of dreams.

Gameplan not always connected. Or going as they had expected. Finding ways to adjust. In focus, passing and thrust. Since winning for them is a must. You know how water flows in a pipe. When pressure released without the hype. Juice on the job flows the same. Work, play & passion in the game.

Win or lose Newton to rake-in more. Once game over and settle the score. Bolt’s on par to be market leader. Australian company his new commercial feeder. Director tells the story of competing to win. And seeing Bolt’s cheek-wide grin. Hard work, fierce determination and commitment with that stick a pin.

So what do they have alike? They could easily be like mike. Cam celebrates with a dab. Usain with ‘lightning bolt’ that’s fab. The chance to showcase their skills. On the big stage it’s the thrills. Where there’s gold on the line it’s a dance. Super-power type results in their performance and hot pants.

Some people have passion for what they do burning like fire! We see it in sports and entertainment where their performance just sizzles. It shows up in their hustle that flows or workplace savvy that grows. That’s how ESPN’s Sage Steele and Toni Braxton worked their way to the mountaintop of major industry.

Both climbed the charts and ladder of their professions. In her recent Lifetime TV biopic Braxton said “It’s a blessing to have all your dreams come true. But even a blessed person is not without pain.” It’s almost as if they’ve been down 2 or 3 roads less travelled in the marketplace of ideas, innovation and inspiration.

Braxton had ups & downs like a roller coaster in her showbiz trek. She was singing at a gas station when she landed her first breakthrough. From there it seemed like the market kept calling for her talent. Then as if in divine timing she caught the attention of LA Reid & Babyface who’d help her rise to the next level.

Steele tells the Huffington Post about her days in the locker room trenches as a female sports reporter. While her challenges were different from Braxton’s they agree that it’s been worth it. They know that sometimes doors open with perfect timing and other times after knocking, kicking or even screaming.

For Braxton it’s been a push here, a pull there and the courage to dare. For Steele it’s been more like steady, swift and at times about her hair. These things connect to the piece of the pie they call their own. So while media’s busy talking about Trump, they’d rather cheer-on those working on their next triumph.

Some people have mad passion. Wit, style not out of fashion. Burning like balls of fire. That makes them go little higher. In sports where play sizzles. Or performance that just drizzles. Shows in their hustle and flow. Betta act like ya know. Sage Steele and Toni Braxton didn’t stop. Till they reached the mountaintop.

For Braxton a push here a pull there. Even times of courage to dare. Steele’s been steady, swift and at times about her hair. Connecting things with their pieces of the pie. To how they’d shoot for the sky. So while media’s been busy talking ‘bout Trump. They’d rather cheer those working on next triumph.

When it’s time to move, it’s time to move! That could easily be turned into a funny statement by Kevin Hart. But this time it’s about his new campaign Move with Hart. He’s easily the hottest stand-up comic for sure. He and Ice Cube have a few secrets on what it takes for people to fall in love with your work.

In a Rolling Stones article Hart once said “I don’t give a s**t about critical consensus! They poll people after my movies, and I get A’s. When I get an F, I’ll take criticism.” Hart and Cube understood from an early age how being the underdog gives people a sense of having a seat at the table of their dreams.

These days Hart and Cube are on a California roll. Their recent movie Ride Along 2 is kicking butt at the box office. In the first weekend of release it knocked Stars Wars from the #1 spot. Who’d expect two dudes who came straight outta Philly and Compton would break the mold and rise to movie gold?

Their on-screen magic and market appeal isn’t just about spitting lines or their individual talent. Maybe it’s really about how they fill voids and holes. It’s like a football running back seeing the hole, breaking-out from the pack and scoring big. Plus, they’re good at reinventing, stretching and perfecting their role.

Hart keeps doing it and isn’t ready to get tired yet. His latest comedy tour features up-and-comers under his watch. His story, like others who’ve made it big, is clear. Hollywood loves the Golden Globes! The stars shine in full whether as household names or new to the game. Nominees wear their finest threads with fans falling head over heels. There’re those like Tyler Perry and Taraji P. Henson who’ve turned their early days on the block into praise that pays as a brand.

A recent headline on Perry in Vulture magazine said “The brand that keeps Oprah in business. He doesn’t care what the critics think of his work because his audience always finds it.” Perry and Henson represent the real deal and real cookie, making it in business for who they serve and who they deserve.

His TV show Haves and Have Nots is OWN’s highest rated and was the third highest scripted show on cable last summer. It’s a long way from his first stage play that wasn’t well received. His dream wasn’t derailed by doubt even-though business was in a drought. Six years later the play finally found success.

They’ve carved-out their own lanes in showbiz. Expanding from those early days on the block to their current brand identity has been a lot like selling groceries. If fruits were their brand then type of fruit would be their lane. A bigger audience they now reach but a certain niche is their sweet spot and favorite peach.

Henson who won for Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama was also named USA Today’s Entertainer of the Year. Time named Cookie Lyon most influential character in 2015. So cream rises to the top and Perry’s story reminds us that the more people you help go from obscurity, the more people achieve job security.

As they look back and remember when. More people to go from obscurity. Means more people achieve job security.

The farewell season of American Idol is here. Wannabes have come and gone as new stars emerged. Jennifer Hudson hopes to grace the stage before curtain close. Hudson and Idol had breakout success just like the Star Wars franchise. They tell fans to ‘expect the unexpected’ as seen on dream TV.

She’s in the Color Purple and said to Playbill “One night I was like, I don’t know if this is for my nerves. I don’t know if I can handle this….. But then, other nights, you feel like you could conquer the world.” These major players give us 2 reasons and 3 results for why 2016 will be a different kind of broken record.

It’s not that Hudson, Idol and Star Wars are in the same league. It’s that they’ve tapped-into their talent gene pool to release creative geniuses. Hudson won an Oscar for Dreamgirls and landed a Grammy for her singing chops. Now she could earn a Tony for her performance on Broadway’s Great White Way.

Her artistry shows us how creative genius gets released like the genie in a bottle. Think about the 70’s TV show ‘I Dream of Jeannie’ and how the master would make a request to the genie. The genie would blink and then the results appeared. Our creative genie flows from God, some goodness or groove in the heart.

Hudson shared with CBS New York her hopes for the new gig and new year saying “This is my first time ever playing a glamorous role and a light role, everything else has been really heavy, so it’s good to expand myself.” As with Star Wars, she knows when the force awakens in us we can reach new frontiers.

Plus, Steve Harvey to host this year’s Miss Universe. They must know what Judge Judy means by ‘Be the Hero in Your Own Story!’

In talking about her new e-book she says “I want to have an honest conversation about what it really takes to get what you deserve out of life: how to define your worth and stick to it.” These icons push us to do life big, do things great or at least ‘do you’ for business sake and be among the first-rate.

Jakes started out in a small West Virginia town and now he’s a mega-church Pastor. Harvey began his journey in Cleveland to becoming a comic and media personality. Judge Judy is a native New Yorker, who according to the NY Times, is Queen of daytime media. They’ve pursued their big dreams in 3D.

Imagine being on an elevator leaving ground level. People get on and select their floors. The elevator climbs to the top stopping on each floor picked. Well like the elevator, we experience career goals/dreams as a rise in discovery, duty and destiny. We might get off on different floors but we’re headed to the top.

Jakes serves his calling to a Higher Power in truth and truth. Harvey lives-out his purpose by mentoring young men. Judge Judy brings her passion for the law. They use calling to make God look good, purpose to serve an earthly good and passion where people say ‘damn, she’s good.’ It’s all ‘a gift in goodness.’

The past few days have been non-stop with new champions named by Sports Illustrated and Heisman. Jakes, Harvey and Judy saw a rise in superhero status with the Do Big dreamer’s club. They’d like us to join them by being heroes in our own stories and having adventures of a lifetime under a sky full of stars.

If we think Oprah and Joel Osteen aren’t busy enough, think again. She just announced her new program with Weight Watchers. A few days ago she signed a book deal for her memoirs. As things go now, they’d probably love to send an upbeat message in a bottle, fortune cookie or greeting card wish this holiday.

Last week she said to the NY Times “All of my experiences, even the painful ones, have been there to teach me about life…I hope my story inspires people to live the highest, fullest expression of themselves.” ‘O & Jo’ know that the path from employee of the month to person of the year is paved in Yule’s gold.

Part of her ‘love yourself’ message is seen in the new Beyond the Scale campaign. She’s ready to support others in focusing on their highest value as they move ‘beyond the sales’ of the holiday season. There’s no wealth without health. There’s no dream without the goals. There’s no great without the wait.

Osteen might say how “Yule’s gold runs circles around fool’s gold.” He might even agree that the Yule Factory is a place where you find ways to add more passion at work, purpose to the day and savor to the flavor. This way we get not just a big paycheck but also in the words of James Brown, ‘a big payback.’

NBC’s doing more ‘Live TV’ magic with The Wiz. Its star, 19 year-old Shanice Williams. She isn’t the only new face in entertainment. Recording artist Tori Kelly is being named Billboard’s breakthrough artist of 2015. Williams and Kelly are going from relative unknown to household names in the blink of a dream.

On landing the role Williams tells the NY Post “It wouldn’t process in my head, for some reason. I had some Chipotle after that and then just wanted to go to sleep and wake up so I knew I wasn’t dreaming!” Reality is what happened to her from dreaming about being selected best-in-class for a major project.

They spent years dreaming about being where they are today. Kelly started out on Youtube and was later discovered. For Williams it was in watching others perform on stage and seeing herself. After the past year in LA theater school she returned to her NJ home and auditioned for the role, beating-out 300 girls.

Pursuing our dreams is a lot like watching the TV weather map projected on green screen. There’re seasons, patterns and flows along with Highs and Lows. But a click can make things change on screen in the blink of an eye. Williams might say it’s a God-click that’s changed her situation in the blink of a dream.

Above all, their dreams took strength, courage and homespun wisdom. So they’re now working at a higher ‘jet stream’ with other big names in showbiz. A radiant smile and seasoned performances will make them ready for more big things. That’s why it’s not over until the phone rings or dreamline blings.

In blink of an eye a new range. Williams saying ‘Big Daddy’ got her ready to blow. Blink of a dream becomes a show.

The holiday season is about to jump-off. There’re ‘Black Friday’ sales all over the place. Between holiday concerts and showbiz Award events, artists are getting ready to bring their A-game. Maybe some should look to @Adele & @Pharrell for how they make passion seem effortless and collaboration look priceless.

Pharrell hosted the ‘Shining a Light’ concert and Adele did the Today Show. She once said in a memorable quote “I make music to be a musician not to be on the cover of Playboy.” That’s key for those who wonder why some people get more ‘play’ on the job, or thanks from mgmt for customer service work.

When performing she does it with ease and he with ‘executive swag.’ Their music connects with the masses without feeling mass-produced. Their performances and press appearances have enough vision to serve a broader mission but enough ‘play’ to get the creative juices flowing and fans cheering.

They have something in common off stage and behind the scenes. It’s a kind of quirky cool that as kids might have been picked-on by others. But their success tells us that a quirk doesn’t make someone a jerk as long as it’s put to good use at work. Quirks can be an asset, becoming part of our working facet.

Many love the fact that no matter how high-up in job title or on the pop music charts, they’re still relatable to everyday people. That common touch helps Adele boost airplay and album sales and attracts emerging artists to him on The Voice. Adele and Pharrell are at their best when they’re like one of us.

When they’re in action it’s a thrill. With ease they execute their skill. Music that connects with the masses. Good for clinging the champagne glasses. Performance and appearance with enough vision.
