The ‘big diesel’ is talking stuff again. Shaquille O’Neal is saying he’s in the top 3 of all-time NBA centers. On a list of his all-time greats he puts Bill Russell at #1, Kareem Abdul Jabbar at #2 and Patrick Ewing at #7. Shaq and Ewing might not have been the most elegant in the paint, but probably the most dominant.

At a recent statue unveiling event, Shaq told Sports Illustrated and other media “There’s two things that made a crowd go crazy: a deep, contested three and a dunk. I always tried to dunk to intimidate my opponents and to make the crowd go crazy.” Everyone has different reasons that put them in ‘drive.’

During their NBA careers Shaq and Ewing brought something different to the game. Ewing had a medium range shot while guarding Shaq in the paint was a hassle. They know whether in college or beyond, the key to improving their game as athletes or industry leaders is to discover strengths.

Ewing would probably love to see the Knicks do better. Shaq’s happy for the Lakers’ honor as a go-getter. As the Final Four squads have been set, they and others hope their team gets to cut down the net. It will be about how stars and role players deliver the goods on the court with hunger and hustle.

Some think Ewing’s in the running to be Georgetown head coach. He got major props from Detroit Piston’s head coach Stan Gundy. Even though Shaq & Ewing had issues with aspects of their game that people might debate over, the real ones bring extra heart that put them in the winner’s circle.

During career in their prime. Various skills brought at the time. Ewing with medium range shot. Shaq in the paint, hassle opponent got. Whether in college or beyond. Working with team players to bond. Key to taking game to new heights and lengths. As athletes and leaders is to discover strengths.

Ewing hoping Knicks could do better. Shaq’s happy for Laker’s honor as go-getter. Season after season, day after day. Doing the best in their own way. As Final Four squads have been set. They and others hope their team cuts down net. Stars and role players deliver more. With hunger and hustle for the score.

Some think Ewing’s in the mix. For Georgetown University head coach pick. Got major props from coaches old and new. From his days of Hoya’s blue. Even with issues in their game. Not much debating over their fame. The real ones bring that extra heart. To reach the winner’s circle from playing smart.

These days many sports fans are glued to the screens and screams of NCAA March Madness. The upsets have been dropping top teams out the picture. But TV fans are happy to see that Oprah and Michelle are back on the scene. They’re taking power lunch and power crunch to fun-time places.

Obama recently appeared as-then First Lady on Master Chef Junior as she gave some ‘recipe for life’ advice to young chefs about “getting an education, doing their best and pushing themselves towards their highest self.” Her tips were like the kind a coach gives athletes before signing day or sweet-16 game time.

Formal education is one thing but Oprah and Michelle got game in bigger things too. They’ve achieved ‘firsts’ in ways that make you wanna cheer them in bursts. They might say it takes a mindset that puts purpose and passion in focus. Plus, the lifestyle they enjoy is related to the life shifts they employ.

Oprah’s busy re-kindling her acting chops. Her role in Greenleaf on OWN has her on the small screen. But it’s the work in her latest ‘justice project’ that’s getting attention. She plays a part in telling the story of Henrietta Lacks’ cancer battle and how her cells were used in future treatment without family consent.

Michelle’s been out taking spring walks with her dogs. She also took time for a power lunch with friends. Meanwhile Oprah might be doing her power crunch with her Weight Watchers drills. The combination of mindset, swag and celebration they bring help us see more good life options for not being the ‘lost ones.’

Looks like another ABC Bachelor got hooked, well, sort of. The finale of potential lovers was filled with the usual ceremonies. Many romance hopes got dashed but other opportunities got cashed. Not to be left out is America’s Got Talent and Little Big Shots with Tyra Banks & Steve Harvey in different ‘hosted by’ roles.

Banks is set to replace Nick Cannon and shared with E! News that “I love how AGT brings that feeling into everyone’s home, capturing the best of people who come out and give it their all to make those big, fierce and outrageous dreams come true.” It’s a case of being born to be wild or born to be awesome.

Both Harvey and Banks started their rise on different tracks, he as a comic and she as a model. They’ve gradually built their reputations in showbiz proving what can be achieved by being good in your lane. They might even agree that competition is no sweat, threat or fret when you ‘just do you’ in a freeing way.

Banks is best known for her days as a Talk Show Host and as ‘smize queen’ on ‘Next Top Model.’ Meanwhile Harvey has turned his Standup Comedy days into a TV hosting bonanza. They’ve spread their wings and made career moves by taking their main gifting and creative positioning to new market levels.

Harvey’s had visible mess-ups in the public eye and Banks had hers too. About her new gig she says “Since I was a little girl, I’ve been obsessed with grandiose acts and performers who make the seemingly impossible possible.” They bloom by going from imaginary to legendary and being good for the long haul.

How being in your lane’s good for wooing. Where competition is no threat or sweat. Just ‘do you’ in a freeing way, no fret.

To TV hosting bonanza rows. Spread their wings with career moves. That put them in new grooves. What gifting & positioning proves.

They’ve had visible public mess-ups. Didn’t stop them from their bless-ups. In her new AGT fam Banks sees. Caring celebs that aim to please. As a little girl she obsessed in those. Whose grandiose acts were beauty like a rose. Performers who make the impossible possible. And bloom into doing the incredible.

Another big moment, another tear jerker! That could easily describe some of the highlights from this year’s Oscars. With more black nominees in the running, it was a more diverse picture. There were a few special moments too. Mahershala Ali and Ava DuVernay gave fitting toasts to folks that mean the most.

Ali did it while accepting his Best Supporting Actor award. DuVernay shared hers during a Red Carpet moment. On his wife’s support Ali said “I want to thank her for being such a soldier through this process and carrying me through it all.” Hey hot shot, that’s the look & stock of a leader, hook & heart of a winner.

DuVernay is one of the newest producers in Hollywood circles. As the brains behind OWN’s Queen Sugar, she’s giving new talent the opportunity to rise and shine. The thing about leaders like her is that they can separate the diamond from the dust. They know where the dust ends and the dynamo begins.

Ali has been working his way up the acting charts with a recent role in the movie Hidden Figures. His approach to the acting craft was drilled into him by teachers and industry mentors. By his own words of ‘serving the characters’ he shared the accolade and the hook for winning of turning lemons in lemonade.

When asked about advice Oprah has shared with her that stuck, DuVernay gave some ‘Pop Sugar’ saying Oprah once told her “When something’s not going your way, don’t think why is this happening to me, but think why is this happening for me.” No problem: think like a leader and have heart like a winner.

In terms of Oprah advice she keeps. Or wants to share with us peeps. About something not going your way. Just think and sometimes pray. What’s happening not about rain. But about turning things into gain. No problem, thus says the leader. Or those who have heart like a winner.
