Steve Harvey & Gabrielle Union Tell a Few Secrets on How to Keep Your Performance Level Up and Your Favorability Ratings High

doc_lg

So who thinks the Grammy Awards was a hit? Well it depends on what group you ask. There’re some who feel the Grammy’s got a problem with Hip-Hop. But there’re others who feel that women were well represented across award categories and show performances. That Alicia Keys is something else.

Even with the star power on stage and in the building, the showbiz talkers say it still wasn’t up to par with fan support. Yea Cardi B did her thing along with some of the other special honors, but the show didn’t get the traction it once had. Maybe they’ll go for new blood in the main office or production team.

It’s what Steve Harvey and Gabrielle Union are constantly working on. They tell a few secrets on keeping your performance level up and your favorability ratings high. Sometimes it’s finding new ways for getting your work to be seen as valuable. Because when familiarity sets in things can get stale, stagnant or stuck.

For example, social experts say by February that 80% of new year resolutions fall apart. Plus, as folks think about their work goals for the new year, they’ll be looking for something to set themselves apart in job performance. So what will it take to level-up the passion in your game this year?

Well Harvey and Union keep finding new ways to flex their muscle while keeping the clients happy. He recently hosted the NFL Honors which took him back to his stand-up comedy days. Union is set to join the Judges panel on America’s Got Talent (AGT). Giving it their best means being ‘new and improved’ in:

  1. Hustle

Harvey shared his stand-up comedy formula for telling jokes. When you hear him break it down you get a sense for what works for him on stage. With other hosting gigs and projects he’s able to turn that formula into new moments of energy and smarts. That’s how hustle-love helps him keep his performance level up.

  1. Flava

Ever notice how fast-food chains keep their menu ‘new & improved’? Sometimes it’s by adding a new topping to the burger. Other times it’s in adding a new ‘special sauce’ for flavor. Well Harvey and Union seem to get that. It’s how they add a new ‘topping’ to their skill set or ‘special sauce’ for more flava.

  1. Vibe

gabrielleunion-agt

Now that Union will be sitting in the Judges chair, she and the other newbies on the set are sure to bring a new vibe to the show. It’s as if vibe is a higher form of flava that comes with teamwork. It’s the chemistry of the collaboration from working together. Vibe is another way to make yourself a sought-after player.

  1. Buzz

When bad things happen in careers or showbiz there’s a kind of ‘dark buzz.’ The news makes it to the tabloid section of social media. But when good things happen there’s a kind of ‘light buzz’ where you’re in the spotlight. They’ve seen both, having to go from dark to light and light to bright for more market appeal.

Harvey’s well on his way to turning his mojo into more jokes. Sounds like he’s thinking about returning to the stand-up stage. Union will be working hard on being a treat in her new AGT seat. They know keeping performance level up and favorability ratings high takes new rounds of hustle-love to make it rain.

Tip: Being ‘new and improved’ at work means keeping your performance level up and your favorability ratings high with new rounds of hustle-love in the game.

Prince Harry is coming to America yet again! This time it’s for the Invictus Games where wounded warriors compete in sports. The last time Harry was here TMZ photos had him in a bind. Simon Cowell is coming back to America too. So he and Harry made a deal with fans for shifting gears into a new grind.

Cowell joins the Judges Panel on America’s Got Talent (AGT). About his new role he tells the Hollywood Reporter “When you’re there, when you discover a star … you’ll never forget that moment.” They remind us of the best thing about having the most fun, games and value as a team player or business leader.

After spending 10 years in the British Army, Harry wanted to find ways to honor those he served with who were injured. So the idea of the Invictus Games was brought to life in 2014. While some might be dealing with a loss in their physical or mental condition, the event gives them a way to re-imagine their potential.

Harry hopes this will inspire people everywhere on expanding their options. For Cowell, his return to the American scene is a kind of professional reboot. He’s the creator/producer of AGT and many other talent programs. He feels it’s some good times wishing on a star, to follow dreams where they are in going far.

The thing that makes them similar yet different is their approach to reinventing themselves. Harry has changed the perception since his Vegas visit, while Cowell continues to change the game in TV ratings. It’s a lesson for pros, regular Jane’s & Joe’s on those special fun moments at work or in everyday roles.

Simon Cowell back at it too. They’re being tried and true. In showing fans a new grind. Long after a past bind.

Cowell joins panel of judges. On America’s Got Talent he nudges. About his role he says you never forget. Watching stars advance a simple project. Being there is like a Twitter moment. A winning formula and success component. The most fun, games and biz value. No matter where the performance venue.

After 10 years as British soldier. Harry’s ready to go bolder. To honor those injured in the trenches. As they move past the recovery benches. Some dealing with loss in physical condition. Invictus Games born to shift their vision. A way to re-imagine one’s potential. And maybe a new view of the providential.

Harry hopes it’s an inspiration. For people across every nation. In doing more to expand their option. Will Cowell’s return to the scene? Mean seeing more of his mean? But really it’s a reboot in positioning. As creator/producer of talent programming. Wishing on a star to follow new stars blossoming.

What makes them one and the same. Is how they’re reinventing their game. Harry’s new perception after Vegas trip. Cowell taking new risks to let it rip. He keeps raising the stakes in TV rating. With more opportunities for the taking. Lesson in special moments for the pros. Or everyday roles for Jane’s & Joe’s.

Theme:–The Year of ‘Uppertunity’ – Get Lifted!”
With Higher Hopes, Bolder Dreams and Greater Teams (Old-School Flava)

Simon Cowell is getting in gear for his return to American TV. After a two-year absence while becoming a Dad, he’s going to be a new judge on America’s Got Talent (AGT). He’ll replace Howard Stern who left at the end of the season. So Cowell and P. Diddy want to take talent to the breakout point in performance.

Diddy just wrapped-up his Revolt Music Conference in Miami. He told emerging players that “There’re levels to your hustle so you have to continually evolve and keep your feet on the neck of your dream.” He knows there’re primetime skills that are great for paying the bills and getting to the next level.

His rise to mogul began as a teenager when he ran a paper route. He later went on to intern for a record company exec while he was a Howard University student. In the #AskDiddy Q&A he shared how he found his niche to get rich. His coaching advice was on the X’s and O’s of the music game and show business.

Every industry/sport has X’s and O’s for playing the game or upping the ladder. Diddy says it’s having a gameplan to greatness that sets folks apart. Getting there is about turning a low-end task into a stepping-stone for mastering the skills to reach high-end goals. He knows what worked for him can work for others.

Now that AGT might have new judges maybe they’ll give Diddy a look. He brings crossover appeal to whatever he does. It’s like a basketball player with a crossover dribble who creates more points and fan-demonium. Diddy and Cowell know crossover skills are great for having more value and bags of money.

Simon Cowell’s getting in gear. Returning to America’s Reality-TV affair. After two-year absence off the radar. Becoming a Dad feels better by far. Set to be new Judge on AGT show. Replaces Stern not there for another go. Cowell and Diddy want to see talent peak. With breakout performances week after week.

Diddy wrapped-up music conference by Revolt. Miami was the place for a fiesta jolt. Telling folks there’re levels to a hustle of love. Giving props to dreams and the Man above. Continue to evolve good for getting a check. By keeping your feet on your dream’s neck. Primetime skills for bills on the next level deck.

Rise as mogul started with paper route. From teen to hip-hop industry clout. Later to intern for a record company exec. While as Howard University student tech. In #AskDiddy Q&A segment on finding niche. Is how he went on to become rich. Coaching advice in the X’s and O’s. For rising stars and future honchos.

Every biz or sport has its ladder up the ranks. For turning X’s and O’s into credit with the banks. But Diddy says having a gameplan from the heart. Is what sets big-timers apart. Making low-end task a stepping stone. Mastering skills by being in the zone. Works for him day to day. Good for others wanting more pay.

Now that AGT’s doing a refresh. It helps if new judges can mesh. Moving to LA seems in the book. So maybe they’ll give Diddy a look? With crossover appeal in what he brings. Like a baller with crossover dribble wings. Good for more cheers and points on the floor. Great for flying high in the money score.

Did Carrie Underwood Strain Her Nerves Without a Crack in Her Voice?

doc_lg

Theme:– Operation C.R.U.S.H. Against Gun Violence, Bias and Clouded Vision

The Country Music Awards was ready for another year of Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley. The duo co-hosted the show the sixth year in a row. They used the show’s monologue to poke fun at celebs like “you know who.” Did Underwood have to strain her nerves without showing a crack in her voice?

She’s a good ol’ OKC country girl who’s come a long way from American Idol. She may not have grown up around the kind violence that’s been popping-up lately from coast to coast. This week saw a NJ Mall shooting that had people on edge. The 20-year old suspect fired-off a few rounds before taking his life.

Police say he made every effort not to harm anyone. With what appears to be some kind of suicide note, authorities believe he wanted to “die by cop.” These kinds of shootings suggest that while everything evil is bad, not everything bad is evil. Sometimes it’s just a matter of people looking for answers.

Underwood might relate when she looks back over her career. At five she was gung-ho about her singing dreams. At 16 she lost-out on a recording contract. At 18 she gave up on her dream to be a recording artist. But her appearance on American Idol helped to elevate a sense of purpose and meaning.

Simon Cowell said Underwood would become the biggest Idol artist. She’s now the top Idol earner with a slew of music industry awards. While public policy efforts on background checks and a review of ‘Stand Your Ground’ laws are important, nothing beats having something to live for before having to die for.

Footnote: Public policy efforts can produce important laws, but a shared sense of purpose offers the kinds of answers to gun violence that give people something to live for before having to die for.
