Bounce Back from Setback: Steve Harvey’s Branding Moves Hit a New Groove (Part 4)

Recently, Joel Osteen told the story of once having tax trouble. His accountant lived in another state and wasn’t aware of some of the tax laws in Texas. Osteen learned about the problem years later when he received a huge tax bill in the mail. Harvey tells a similar story of having to bounce back from tax setback.

Osteen said it resulted in him and his family having a scrooge Christmas. Harvey said the situation was a turning point in his success. He owed thousands maybe millions in back taxes. He could have wallowed in self-pity. Instead, he used the situation as motivation to get as many comedy gigs as possible.

It gave him a new sense of “get-up and go.” He made up his mind to get past the pain and towards the gain. What could have become a nervous breakdown instead was turned into a financial breakthrough. Harvey and Osteen looked at their situations and might have asked “what do we have to lose?”

The key to getting past losing a job, a contract or potentially your mind is getting over the knock so it doesn’t become a block. No need to dig yourself a deeper hole. It’s better to look deeper into your soul. There you’ll find a re-vision for your today and a vision for your tomorrow that’ll get you moving again.

That’s how things played out for Osteen and Harvey. Both have earned more than enough to pay back Uncle Sam. Osteen says he did so by selling some assets he later inherited. Harvey did so by firing-up his comedy circuit facets. Their setbacks were used as stepping stones to bigger and better things.

Joel Osteen once had tax trouble. Living his life in a bubble. His tax man worked in another state. Knowledge of tax laws wasn’t first-rate. Osteen learned about it by getting hug tax bill. That was a shock and not a real thrill. Harvey tells similar story of having to bounce back. He also dealt with some tax hack.

Osteen’s family felt the scrooge at Christmas. Not a lot of money to spend at Toys-R-Us. Harvey made this a turning point. His success would come by laughing-up the joint. He owed thousands maybe even millions in money. Didn’t go over well with his honey. Using this as motivation for making things funny.

A new sense of “get-up and go.” With a perspective shift in the flow. Made up his mind to get past the pain. Working harder and harder for the gain. Could have become a nervous breakdown. Instead took him to the financial uptown. Asking “what do I have to lose?” With little time for self-pity or to snooze.

Getting past losing a job, contract or your mind. Is in moving forward not looking behind. Seeing the situation less as a knock. So it doesn’t become a bigger block. No need to dig yourself a deep hole.  Just look deeper into your soul. There you’ll find hope in revision. Moving again towards tomorrow’s vision.

That’s how things played out for these guys. Putting their game and name on the rise. Earning enough to pay back Uncle Sam. With book sales and comedy gigs that brought in the ham. Osteen by selling some inherited assets. Harvey by firing-up his comedy facets. Turning setbacks into stepping stone trinkets.

Tip: Bouncing back from a setback means asking yourself “what do you have to lose and then thinking more about what do you have to gain.”

Talkback: What’s another phrase that sends a similar message as “turning setbacks in comebacks?”

Pack Purpose for the Ride: Steve Harvey’s Branding Moves Hit a New Groove (Part 3)

Those ‘in the know’ say Family Feud has seen bigger ratings in recent years. Some think it’s gotten new life with Steve Harvey as the latest host. The show airs on weeknights in regular season rotation as well as in syndication. How does Harvey juggle all this work? He says it’s in taking care of your temple.

Harvey knows something about a diet makeover and workout schedule. He takes seriously the idea that what you put in is what you put out. But that doesn’t just apply to his body. It’s also about feeding the soul. He produces maximum results in life because he knows your “temple gifts” can look good on you.

He’s normally decked-out in the finest suits. Things match and coordinate in ways that would make a mother proud. However, when you look past the outward appearance, you realize there’s a spiritual calling at work. This is how you make big G (o-d) look good which puts everything in place as it should.

When in doubt of the next career move, be sure to at least pack purpose for the ride. Where there’s purpose there’s a sense of serving some greater good. While Harvey’s work is multi-media, he also gives back through his foundation by partnering with others to mentor boys from single-parent households.

Between the start and end of the day Harvey finds ways to make folks laugh. He seems to be having the most laughs himself on The Feud. He makes a living doing these gigs because his passion goes to work for a paycheck. Your passion is in how you ‘do you’ such that others might say, “damn, you’re good!”

Those ‘in the know’ see a shift in gears. Family Feud’s ratings up in recent years. Some think Steve Harvey gave it new life. He’s the latest host dressed sharp as a knife. Airing weeknights in regular season rotation. Also seen in cable syndication. With many jobs in his spoke. Taking care of his temple is no joke.

Harvey knows about a diet makeover. Doing his regular workout is no pushover. Serious about the idea of what you put in. So that what he puts out makes folks grin. Not just about biceps and your core. But also about the soul’s dujour. Bringing max results in the making. As “temple gifts” look good for the taking.

Normally decked-out in the finest suits. Things paying off in his life fruits. Looking cool to make a mother proud. Even if other’s love to hear him loud. Going beyond his outward flair. You see a spiritual calling in the air. That’s about making big G (o-d) look good. Having things in place where it should.

When in doubt of the next career move. Think about putting purpose in the groove. Where there’s purpose there’s a sense of serving. Some earthly good for a greater rising. While Harvey’s work is multi-media happy. Little he does seems to be crappy. Like mentoring boys on not being sappy.

Between the start and end of day. He makes people laugh in some way. Laughing himself silly on The Feud. Not to be seen as acting rude. Making a living with these gigs. His passion goes to work for a paycheck jig. Passion is how you might burn like wood. Even making others say, “damn, you’re good!”

Tip: Packing purpose for the ride means spreading your gifts so that your 9-to-5 is as good as it gets.

Have a Supreme Work Ethic: Steve Harvey’s Branding Moves Hit a New Groove (Part 2)

doc_lg

Well, no need to ask who’s #1 as the Seahawks took the crown. All Champions look forward to the hometown parade. The game’s MVP Malcolm Smith has already gone to Disney World. In sports or business it takes more than luck to get to the top. Steve Harvey might say it takes a supreme work ethic.

Being heard on radio and seen on different TV channels may seem like a walk in the park. But Harvey knows something about the daily grind. He gets up early to be in workout shape. He starts the day by looking to a Higher Source. So by the time he’s heard or seen on the airwaves he’s ready for work.

It’s interesting how the Seahawks had a similar approach to the Superbowl game. They got out early doing their pre-game drills. The coaching staff and players kept to the same routine to warm-up their skills as in the regular season. By the time they got on the field they were ready for work and ready to win.

A supreme work ethic can setup your next promotion. This is true whether you’re unemployed, underemployed or emerging self-employed. It can separate the talented from the motivated. It can fuel the rise from a lower pecking order in the workplace to a higher profile in the marketplace.

While other daytime talk shows are ending, Harvey’s show is growing. It can now be seen on the recently renamed “Up” Channel. His talk show contract has been extended to 2016. No need to hate on Harvey or balk on the Seahawks. When a supreme work ethic is in the mix, your dreams are ready for the world.

steve-harvey-tv

Theme:–The Year of ‘Brandemonium’

Enough already asking who’s really #1. Seahawks rock the Broncos in the Superbowl they won. Game MVP Malcolm Smith has already gotten his award. He’s gone to Disney World as a winner’s reward. A hometown parade for the die-hard fan. Steve Harvey knows it takes supreme work ethic to be the man.

Heard on radio, seen on TV. Not like taking a walk in the park for free. Harvey knows about the daily grind. Moving forward not looking behind. Getting up early to do his workout thing. Starting the day with a Higher Source sing. So by the time he hits the office door. He’s ready for work and giving of himself more.

Seems Seahawks had a similar getup. In their Superbowl winning setup. Got out early doing pre-game drills. Kept the same routine to warm-up their skills. Coaching staff and players had a reason. Sticking to the script from regular season. By the time they got on the field. They had lots of prep and swag to wield.

A supreme work ethic can bring the next promotion. Watchout there now for the commotion. This is true whether unemployed or underemployed. Or trying to be among the emerging self-employed. Highlights of the talented versus the motivated. In going from a lower pecking order to higher-profile rated.

While other daytime shows are slowing. Harvey’s primetime base is growing. Now seen on the renamed channel “Up.” Contract extension had to fill his cup. No need to hate, complain or balk. These dudes can back-up their talk. When a supreme work ethic’s in the mix. Dreams are ready for the world and got kicks.

Tip: A supreme work ethic shows your dreams are ready for the world because you have the discipline to do the things you need to do when you need to do them so you can do (have) the things you want to do (have) when you want to do (have) them.

Talkback: How did the first play after the kickoff of the Superbowl (the Safety) affect the Broncos or Seahawks?

Where Hopes & Dreams Become Real on Breakout Teams” (Old-School Flava)

Can you see Steve Harvey as an Insurance Salesman? Or car assembly lineman? Well, Ebony Magazine says it’s true. Harvey, the comedian turned radio personality has spread his wings a lot further. He even launched his own daytime talk show. Harvey wants you to think like a mogul and live your passion.

Many know him as the current host of the long-running game show Family Feud. Harvey now has more clout on the media airwaves. He shared his story of being ‘sick and tired,’ feeling like he wasn’t living up to his potential. His dream journey started when he left his day job for the comedy circuit.

Harvey says the fire burning inside keeps him striving to be the best in his game. He’s had ups & downs, trials and setbacks but found the courage to bounce back. His story shows how success is about giving your best no matter the test. It’s about living your passion and serving something bigger than yourself.

Whether you’re unemployed, underemployed or self-employed, Harvey wants you to think like the best. People who’re ‘best-in-class’ mix success-thinking and fear-squashing to make them rise, shine and dominate in the game. ‘Just do you’ on the job or in the marketplace and let your passion sizzle through.

During sporting events we see some amazing scores. Sometimes trophies are won, records broken and memories made to last a lifetime. But if there’s anything we can take away from star athletes and from Harvey, it’s that higher achievement comes to those who do everything they can to learn from the best.

Steve Harvey as Insurance Salesman? Or car assembly lineman? Ebony magazine says it’s true. Harvey might have worn uniform blue. Comedian turned radio personality. Spreading his wings with brand originality. Launching his own daytime TV show. Thinking like a mogul brings more lanes to grow.

Some know him from Family Feud. Others see him as that “bald head dude.” Grabbing more of the media airwaves. Hoping to reap the benefits and fan raves. His story of being ‘sick and tired’ became crucial. Feeling like he wasn’t living to his potential. So he left his day job to start a comedy revival.

Harvey says there’s a fire that’s burning inside. Striving to be the best with pride. Even with life’s ups & downs, trials and setbacks. He’s found the courage to deliver major comebacks. Showing how success is about giving it your best. No matter the cost or the test. Serving something bigger and living to the fullest.

Unemployed, underemployed or self-employed? It’s really hard to feel overjoyed. Maybe you plan to give-up or take a rest. Harvey wants you to think like the best. To be ‘best-in-class’ takes success-thinking. Along with a dose of fear-squashing. Makes you rise, shine, not be the same. And sizzle in the pro game.

Sporting events provide some amazing feats. Many heard cheering in their seats. Trophies won, records broken. Memories made from things unspoken. So inspired by these star athletes. And Harvey’s lessons from the streets. Achievement means working like a pest. And learning everything you can from the best.

Tip: Achievement comes as you go after goals like a pest and learn everything you can from the best.

Talkback: How has a life-changing event or celeb like Harvey inspired you to not give-up, to think differently or to raise your game?

A New Year’s Toast to The ‘Selfie’ with a Celebrity Photobomb!

doc_lg

A new year rolled in on hump day this year. So did some cold weather and talk about making resolutions. Some people think it’s a waste of time. Others see it as a way to jump-start the year. The most popular resolution is probably dropping some pounds. So here’s a new year’s toast to the “before and after” selfie.

Some “selfies” provide a view that would otherwise be hard to see. Others take on a larger-than-life look and feel. But what’s good for the “photo selfie” might also be good for the “resolutions selfie.” That’s because psychologists suggest it’s better to have a theme that helps to get you through the year.

So where to start in setting ourselves apart? Maybe more smarts, braver heart. That’s right, learning something new or doing something old in a new way. They say the more you know the more you realize what you don’t know. So turning curiosity into luminosity is a good way to stay current or get ahead.

It may be that to lose weight or kick a habit some will need to burn more sweat. Even if not doing so in a physical sense, then maybe in a “sweat equity” sense. It’s like what happens when teams go from regular season to playoffs or BCS Bowl. It’s the same game but a different level of effort as in “oomph.”

Don’t overlook the value of having more faith. This is not simply about a belief system or religious fervor. It’s about having a “system of beliefs” where as Henry Ford once said “whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.” A belief system is good for inspiration. A system of beliefs is good for motivation.

There’s also a significant benefit to having more purpose. You might have seen the Exxon/Mobil ad which talks about gasoline having a higher energy density. That’s why a car’s fuel tank need not be extra large. Driving your new year’s resolutions fueled by purpose gives your life goals more energy density.

OK, back to the “selfie” seen with President Obama, Pope Francis and maybe even the Duck Dynasty. One way to get your resolutions theme going is by having a “selfie perspective” with your favorite sports, biz or showtime icon looking over your shoulder. That just might help get you going or keep you on point.

Footnote: A New Year’s resolution with a theme might make it easier to lose some weight, kick the habit or breakout the dream of a champagne life.

Malala Yousafzai Has Set Her Sights on Higher Office and Wider Reach

Where Love Beats Fear in Upping Our Game This Year” (Old-School Flava)

Not this time! That could have been the headline when it was learned that Malala Yousafzai did not win the Nobel Peace Prize. The committee instead gave the award to a watchdog organization responsible for dismantling Syria’s chemical weapons. But Malala has set her sights on higher office and wider reach.

A year ago she was shot in the head at point-blank range riding home on the school bus. A Taliban assassin boarded and asked “Who is Malala?” She was rushed to the hospital and later flown to the U.K. for life-saving surgery. Malala is a living example of what India Arie called strength, courage and wisdom.

Her commitment to social change shows the strength of her resolve. At a young age she learned about the Taliban’s suppression of education. She began a campaign of learning in her Pakistani homeland. Even with death threats she rallied her cause to the point of receiving her country’s peace price.

Malala’s dream is to one day become Prime Minister of Pakistan. That seems like a tall order but she’s loaded with lots of courage. Some of this is learned from her father who by the time she was born had achieved his dream of opening his own school. Courage says go ahead and make your day and dreams.

Just imagine how she must have felt this summer celebrating her 16th birthday with a speech at the U.N? Her recovery has been described as miraculous. She recently had a chance to meet with President Obama where she advised a policy choice of “books over drones.” Now if that’s not wisdom then what is?

malala

The Year of ‘Growmance’
Where Love Beats Fear in Upping Our Game This Year” (New-School Flava)

No no, not this time! Could’ve been the Taliban chime. Malala not winner of Nobel Peace Prize. Even though her acclaim’s on the rise. Going instead to a watchdog group. As they dismantle Syria’s weapon’s troupe. Something she continues to do is teach. Setting her sights on higher office, wider reach.

Year ago being shot in the head. At point-blank range could have been dead. Riding home on the school bus. Having fun not making a fuss. “Who is Malala?” assassin asks out loud. Fired three shots right by the crowd. Rushed to U.K. for life-saving surgery. Strength, courage and wisdom adding to her legacy.

Commitment to social change will not dissolve. Strength of character in her resolve. As a child saw Taliban’s education suppression. Took action with some grassroots inspiration. A campaign that moved many in her Pakistani homeland. Receiving country’s peace prize as a frontline brand.

She dreams one day to be Government leader. As Prime Minister she’d be the head reader. Yes, this seems like a tall order. But she’s got courage to run the border. Got passed down from her dad’s esteem. Who by her birth was running his own k-to-8 team. Courage says make your day and live your dream.

Imagine she was radiant like a peach. Spending her 16th b-day giving U.N. speech. Miraculous recovery from life-changing blow. Still pointing the way for how others might grow. Recently meeting with President Obama. Saying we choose “books over drones” drama. If that’s not wisdom then betta consider karma.

Tip: Upping your game takes strength, courage and wisdom in going from layoff, setback or ‘close call’ to standing tall.

Talkback: Was it a good thing that Malala did not win the Nobel Peace Prize this time around?

Ann Curry Pulls Off a Journalism Coup That Blazes Her Media Profile

Where Love Beats Fear in Upping Our Game This Year” (Old-School Flava)

NBCs Today Show and ABCs Good Morning America have been in a ratings dual for the #1 spot. Recently, the Today Show added a new co-host and studio makeover. Ann Curry still does some reporting even after losing her anchor spot. But she’s pulled off a coup that blazes her media profile.

She landed the first interview by a Western Media outlet with the new Iranian President. Curry is seen wearing traditional Iranian attire in a 1-on-1 interview setting. We haven’t heard much from Curry since her own job shake-up. But it’s a good example of what to do when one’s career track hits the wall.

Curry showed lots of class, even though she would have loved for others to kiss her…(well enough said). In some circles it’s felt that Americans live to work. It’s a matter of “bills bills every day. Not much time after work for play.” Clearly, Curry wasn’t as worried about leaning-in as she was about learning-up.

She found a way to rise to the occasion. Whether it’s a job loss, career slide or broken business deal hitting the wall isn’t the end of the line. Just look at what happens when a Running Back is trying to gain short yardage but hits the wall. He keeps his legs moving just enough for a final surge of the wall.

After about a year in the big chair Curry was replaced. The word online was things didn’t go so well with the show’s rating and maybe some peer hating. Curry moved on in a new role. She’s still making a name for herself at home and the world stage. Just goes to show that a loss can be the setup for a bigger win.

Left corner Today Show on NBC. Right corner Good Morning America on ABC. Battling for the #1 spot. By keeping the ratings hot. Today added new co-host and studio makeover. But GMA not seen as a pushover. Ann Curry still stops by for reports on file. She’s pulled off a coup that blazes her style.

Landing the first Western Media talk as if by fate. Beating other outlets straight out the gate. New Iranian President questioned wire-to-wire. By Curry wearing traditional Iranian attire. Hasn’t said much since her own job shift. Leaving others to gossip about a rift. Good example when career track gets hit by a tiff.

Curry showed lots of class. Would’ve preferred others kissed her…(‘nuff said). Americans live to work, is that true? That’s from the polls so what about you? For so many a matter of “bills bills every day. Not much time after work for play.” Curry not worried about leaning-in. More like learning-up helps her win.

Found a way to rise to the occasion. While still working at the same station. Whether job loss, career slide or broken biz deal. Curry never stopped keeping it real. Hitting the wall not end of the line. After a while things turn out fine. Like a Running Back working for short yardage. Keep legs moving pass the blockage.

Curry did her thing in the big chair. Then lost the spot after a year. Word on the street was lower rating. And maybe some peer-to-peer hating. Curry moved on in her new role. Working on achieving her next goal. Still making a name at home and world stage. Just shows a loss can lead to turning a bigger page.

Tip: Upping your game is making a name for yourself even if your name gets muddled in drama or gossip.

Sal Khan Could Easily Be the Bill Gates of Public Education

doc_lg

Theme:–The Year of ‘Growmance’
Where Love Beats Fear in Upping Our Game This Year” (Old-School Flava)

To be profiled on CBS’ 60 Minutes is a big deal. But for Sal Khan it came across as another day at the office. He’s bringing needed innovation to public education. With the help of a few tools, Khan creates user-friendly subject lessons on the Internet. Sal Khan could easily be the Bill Gates of public education.

It all started as a family service. His relative was having trouble in math, so Khan developed tutorials that she could review online. He later quit his job as a hedge fund analyst to focus on this idea full-time. Tech pioneer Bill Gates is so impressed that he’s pouring lots of money into Khan’s social-capital venture.

Khan’s vision holds lessons beyond the classroom. There’re opportunities for more ‘social-preneurship’ around the country. With so many unmet needs and untapped benefits of reversing joblessness and gun violence in the community, we can move beyond select success to help shake broader urban distress.

Sometimes it takes an outside face (or voice) for starters. Khan says “too many people are forced to learn through a system that doesn’t meet them individually.” Sometimes it takes a shift in the user space. It’s like going from 4-way stop signs to traffic lights. The technology creates greater flow at the intersection.

In a way it takes a sense of calling. Soledad O’Brien shows it in her new role after CNN. Some workplace assignments are meant for the right training. There are others meant for the right following. But many of the social or market challenges today require a sense of calling based on service to the human family.

sal-khan

The Year of ‘Growmance’
Where Love Beats Fear in Upping Our Game This Year” (New-School Flava)

Getting on CBS 60 Minutes a big deal. A smart, savvy and larger-than-life feel. With a spotlight on Indian-American Sal Khan. Wonder if Bollywood’s in his plan? With help from a team and some tools. Khan creates subject-lesson study pools. Could easily be the Bill Gates of online-ed rules.

Starting on a family path. His kin was having trouble in math. Building Youtube tutorials she could see. Then others began tuning-in for free. Quitting his hedge fund analyst gig. To do something he really did dig. Landing support from Tech pioneer Bill Gates. Pouring in lots of money to fill his plates.

Khan’s vision for the classroom. Might even apply to the boardroom. Where public education so needs a makeover. And Main Street could use a do-over. Social-preneurship as another way to go. With unmet needs and benefits to grow. Ideas for moving past select success. Dealing with broader urban distress.

From outside face (or voice) on the scene. Working with red, yellow & green. Too many learning through a system. That doesn’t meet the student’s rhythm. Making a shift in the user space. Thinking beyond the 9 to 5 rat-race. Like going from 4-way stop to traffic light. Technology speeds-up the flow and flight.

It’s having a sense of calling. That’s what Soledad O’Brien is showing. Some workplace assignments based on training. A matter of applying formal learning. Others meant for the right following. A matter of what it is you’re selling. But social and market challenges today. Need a sense of calling at work and play.

Tip: Upping your game can mean applying formal learning or directing your social following to pursue a greater sense of calling.

Dr. King’s Speech and Life Have Set the Gold Standard to Inspire Unsung Dreams

Where Love Beats Fear in Upping Our Game This Year” (Old-School Flava)

The headline in the Jamaican paper said “Church Ended Early to Watch Bolt Run.” 50 years ago the headline in the U.S. paper might have said “Church Ended Late to Hear King Speak.” What Bolt is today on the track, Dr. King was back-in-the-day at the mic. He set the gold standard to inspire unsung dreams.

His example showed that making it great is not about your race but about your content. The content of Bolt’s get-up has made him the fastest man ever. 50 years ago Dr. King’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech made the point that was like saying content is to character as yeast is to bread. It brings rise to the occasion.

Bolt’s come a long way from small-island to global reach. This reminds us that making it great is not about your current place but about your vision space. Dr. King might have put it this way; “Don’t worry about how far behind you are in world-rank. Be happy how far ahead you see around the block or river-bank.”

Even if you’re almost next to last, Dr. King would have echoed words like “the last shall be first.” Making it great is more than your race or current place. It’s about what you dream. Imagine, 50 years ago a kid named Al Sharpton was inspired by Dr. King. Now he’s leading Realize the Dream with Martin L. King III.

Bolt may be the most God-gifted athlete to grace the planet. Dr. King was one of the most God-gifted orators to grace a podium. They are among the champions past and present. King’s legacy shows how persistence & patience can take unsung dreams from bottom of the charts to breaking the glass ceiling.

“Church Ends Early to Watch Bolt Run.” Evening news in the island sun. “Church Ends Late To Hear King Speak.” Years ago could’ve been a headline leak. Dr. King at the mic any given day. Was like Bolt on the track winning anyway. Never a dull moment out of the gate. The gold standard for making dreams great.

Showing it’s not about being judged by race. But about the content of your grace. Bolt’s get-up makes him the fastest for sure. King’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech with content to endure. Kinda like saying content is to character as yeast is to bread. Rising to the occasion, things not going to your head.

Bolt’s a star in his speed game. From lil’ country start to global fame. Care not so much about your place. But about how vision biggups your space. Take a page from King’s speech bank. Don’t worry where you are in world rank. Be happy on this side of the clock. See farther ahead of the riverbank or block.

Even if you’re almost next to last. Use as fuel lessons from the past. “The last shall be first,” echoes of Dr. King. Believe that… it has a nice ring! So, let’s move beyond what you face. Put your dreams in its rightful place. Imagine, 50 years ago Sharpton as a kid inspired. Now leading Realize the Dream no ways tired.

Bolt could be the most gifted non-cheat. These days seems so hard to beat. King’s one of the most gifted of orators. Among our everyday motivators. Stories of starts and finishes. Historic speeches and wishes. Showing persistence and patience go a long way. From unsung dream to break the glass-ceiling payday.

Steve Harvey Turns the ‘Gift of Gab’ for Comedy into a Branding Powerhouse

Steve Harvey likes to make people laugh. His career is one that likely started at the bottom. But now he’s here at the top. Harvey’s heard on morning radio and seen on daytime TV. He gives back to the community through his foundation. Harvey turned his ‘gift of gab’ for comedy into a branding powerhouse.

He’s worked hard at bringing content to audiences and audiences to advertisers. Over the years Harvey has used comedy to sellout venues. He’s now become a high-profile, multi-media brand. Harvey’s work has achieved the kind of ratings that seem to make the haters hate and the fans appreciate.

Maybe he uses Oprah’s success as inspiration. While not trying to walk in her shoes, Harvey knows something about reaching those who might be hurting. He connects with the pulse of the community and the pain of the down-but-not-out. It’s a special thing to have wealth and be able to show you have heart.

Listen to how he gives advice and you can tell that Harvey is big on lifelong learning. He knows when you stop learning you stop growing. When you stop growing you tend to surrender your success. The setbacks and disappointments he had back-in-the-day was then. Today he’s focused on being in the now.

Each year Harvey hosts his annual Neighborhood Awards. It’s one of the ways his brand uplifts the community. Some see it as the party of the year. But Harvey might have a greater purpose in mind. He knows that when all is said and done, life’s favorite moments will stay with you a while, so have some fun.

Giving back, paying it forward without a fee. Turning his ‘gift of gab’ for comedy. Into a multi-media escape from poverty.

Works hard to meet people where they’re at. Bringing content and audiences together, got it down pat. Having used comedy to sellout venues. Now he’s pulling high-profile multi-media revenues. With ratings that seem to make the haters hate. But he keeps doing his thing so the fans appreciate.

Could Oprah’s success be inspiration? He’s also got the ear of a nation. Not trying to walk in her shoes. Done a lot to pay his dues. Giving his time to spread more good. To the down-but-not-out in the neighborhood. Feeling the pulse and pain on the ground. A special thing to have wealth and be profound.

Hear how he gives advice. Lifelong learning, he could charge a price. When you stop learning you stop growing. That’s some of what he’s showing. When you stop growing you kill success. That’s the word from the Harvey press. With setbacks and lean times back-in-the-day. Today he’s on point in every way.

Radio, TV and Awards host. Maybe a role he loves the most. Just one way his brand is a hub. Uplifting the community like a club. Some see it as the party of the year. But Harvey has a greater purpose to share. He knows when all is said and done. Life’s fav moments stay with you so rock the fun.

Tip: Upping your game means turning everyday learning into fun-favorite moments of high earning.
